Creator Guide

For Stickerbook creators · Last updated October 2026

What your files need, the look Stickerbook is going for, how sticker sheets work, how to name and tag your work, how to price it, how you get paid and how promotions work. Only the must-haves are required. Everything else is Stickerbook’s taste, and there’s room for lots of styles.

The short version: make stickers that look like real stickers you could peel off, and backgrounds that set the mood without stealing the show.
Stickers
1

Sticker files

The upload screen checks these before anything goes live.

Must have
  • PNG with a transparent backgroundSee-through edges let your sticker sit on any page.
  • Square, 1024×1024 to 2048×2048Big enough to stay sharp, small enough to load fast.
  • Your design fills at least 75% of the width or the heightToo much empty space makes your sticker look tiny on a page.

Looks like a real sticker you could peel off

The best stickers feel like something you'd stick on a laptop or a water bottle.

Die-cut shape with a white border
Bumper sticker: built-in edge
Badge: built-in edge
Floating art gets lost
What works
  • Die-cut shapes get a white borderThe border is what makes a shape read as a sticker, and it keeps your art visible on dark or busy pages.
  • Built-in edges count: bumper stickers, badges, labels and patchesThey already have an edge, so they don't need an extra border.
  • Reads smallBold shapes and strong contrast still read when a sticker is small on a page.
  • Works on any backgroundPages can be white, dark, colorful or patterned.
  • Says something specificA clear interest, vibe or in-joke.
  • The whole thing fitsNothing awkwardly cut off at the edges.
Not quite
  • Floating artwork with no edge or borderIt looks like clip art and gets lost on busy backgrounds.
4

Clean edges

Quick background removal often leaves messy edges. A few minutes of cleanup makes a big difference.

Clean edge
Light halo from the old background
What works
  • Crisp edges that end exactly where the art ends
Not quite
  • Fuzzy, uneven or jagged edges
  • A white or light halo around the art
  • Leftover bits of the old background

Quick test: put your sticker on a dark background. If you see a faint outline, zoom in and clean up the edges before uploading.

5

Not what Stickerbook is looking for

Lots of styles are welcome. These just don't feel like stickers.

Not quite
  • Photos with the background removedThat's a cutout, not a sticker.
  • ScreenshotsArt made to be a sticker, not a capture of a screen.
  • Blurry or accidentally pixelated artOn purpose pixel art and 8-bit styles are welcome.
6

A sticker doesn’t have to start as a sticker

If it’s a design people would wear, carry, hang up or stick on something, it can live here as a sticker.

Enamel pinsPatchesButtonsMagnetsAcrylic keychainsFlags and bannersTee and hoodie graphicsHat and tote designsPosters and printsBumper stickers and decalsTattoosLawn and yard signsLogos and mascots
What works
  • Upload the design itselfThe same file you’d send to the printer, made into a sticker that meets the rules above.
  • Test it before you print itStats shows how often each design is Collected, Bought and Given, so you can see what people want before you pay for a physical run.
  • Send people to the real thingYour profile links can point to wherever you sell the pin, the shirt or the print.
Not quite
  • A photo of the finished productA picture of the pin, the shirt or the sign is a cutout, not a sticker.
  • MockupsA design shown on a mug, a hat or a model doesn’t work on a page.
Backgrounds
7

Background files

The upload screen checks these before anything goes live.

Must have
  • PNG or JPEG
  • Portrait, at least 1440×2560
  • It’s trimmed to 9:16 from the centerKeep the important part in the middle.
Perfect1440×2560 (9:16). Nothing trimmed.
Accepted, trimmed1920×2560 (3:4). The extra comes off evenly. Files taller than 9:16 lose the top and bottom instead.
Rejected: wrong shape2560×1440. Square and landscape files can't be used.
Trimmed off
What works
  • Keep text off the backgroundLet the stickers do the talking.
Sticker sheets
8

Sticker sheets

A sticker sheet puts 5 to 30 of your stickers together, so people can buy them as one item at a discount. You build sticker sheets in Manage in Creator Studio.

Must have
  • 5 to 30 of your own Active stickersStickers that are Inactive or Removed can’t go in.
  • A nameUp to 50 characters. A description is optional, up to 200.
  • One of three shapesClassic, Square or Tall.
Classic2:3
Square1:1
Tall9:16
How it works
  • Stickers land arrangedThe first ones you pick land biggest. Stickers never overlap or hang off the edge.
  • Then make it yoursDrag stickers to move them, use the corner to resize, and tilt them up to 20° either way. Re-arrange starts over with a fresh layout.
  • Pick a background colorThe same 70 colors you’d use on a page.
  • What you create is a pictureThe layout can’t be changed after you create the sticker sheet. The name, description, discount and Active switch can.
  • Sticker sheets use their stickers’ tagsThere are no tags to add.
  • Turning off a sticker turns off its sticker sheetsTurn the sticker sheet back on once all its stickers are Active again.
  • People only pay for what they don’t haveIf someone already owns some of the stickers in your sticker sheet, they pay only for the ones they don’t have, at your sticker sheet’s discount.
Discounts

The bigger the sticker sheet, the bigger the discount. You pick where it lands in the range, and a new sticker sheet starts at the top.

Sticker sheet sizes
Mini Sticker Sheet · 5–10 stickers5–10% off
Standard Sticker Sheet · 11–20 stickers11–20% off
Deluxe Sticker Sheet · 21–30 stickers21–30% off
Example

Made-up numbers, just to show how the math works.

12 stickers that add up to150 coins
At 20% off, the sticker sheet is120 coins
Slide it to 15% off and it’s128 coins
Change the discount any time in Edit Sheet. After a change, it stays put for 30 days.
If a sticker’s price changes, the sticker sheet’s price follows at the same discount.
What works
  • Pick your headliners firstThe first stickers you pick land biggest, so start with the ones you want people to see.
  • A themeA season, a place, a series or an inside joke. A sticker sheet that hangs together sells itself.
  • A mix of sizesA few big ones with small ones tucked around them looks like a real sticker sheet.
Not quite
  • Near-duplicatesFive versions of the same sticker.
  • Random leftoversStickers that don’t belong together.

Names, categories and tags

These tell Stickerbook what your sticker or background is about, so it can connect with people who are into the same things.

Must have
  • A nameUp to 50 characters.
  • One categoryThe subcategory is optional.

You can change any of these later in Manage.

Only the name shows on your sticker. People can filter the Shop by category. Subcategory and tags aren’t shown anywhere right now, but they’re how people find it, so a tag can be a detail you’d never put in the name. That could change if search starts suggesting words as people type.

NameGame Day Cat
CategoryAnimals › Cats
Tagsorange tabbyfootballhelmetgame daysports fan

It’s mostly a cat, so Animals. The football goes in tags.

NameCoffee First
CategoryVibes & Aesthetic › Quotes & sayings
Tagscoffeemorningbumper stickerhand-lettered

The point is the words, so Vibes & Aesthetic. The coffee goes in tags.

What works
  • A name that says what it is“Sleepy Orange Cat” tells people more than “Design 4”.
  • The one category it’s mostly aboutIf the point is the joke, the words or the mood, Vibes & Aesthetic is usually the one.
  • Tags for everything elseWho or what’s in it, where it is, the style and the vibe. If it fits more than one category, or none, tags cover the rest.
  • Tags people would actually searchShort and specific, the way someone would type it.
  • A quick look at the suggestionsIf Suggest is on, Stickerbook fills these in from the image. You know the joke, the reference or the place behind it, so fix anything that’s off. How the image check works.
Not quite
  • Tags for things it isn’t aboutThey connect it to people who don’t share anything with it.
  • Repeating the category as a tagThe category already says it.
  • The same tag spelled three ways“tie-dye”, “tie dye” and “tiedye” use three of your 20 tags.
  • Names that don’t say anything“Untitled”, “Final v2” or the file name.

Earning

Pricing

You set the price of each sticker and background in coins, from 0 to 500. Sticker sheets price themselves from their stickers.

How it works
  • Any whole number from 0 to 5000 makes it free. Set it when you upload, and change it later in Manage.
  • A sticker here gets used again and againIt works more like a font than a paper sticker. People get it once and can put it on as many pages as they like and on the Slap Map.
  • You see what it means as you typeUnder the price box, Creator Studio shows what a buyer pays and about what you get.
  • A new price stays put for 30 daysAfter you change a price, you can change it again 30 days later.
  • Sticker sheets follow their stickersA sticker sheet’s price is its stickers’ total at the sticker sheet’s discount, so it moves when a sticker’s price does. See Sticker sheets.
  • Free items count toward your 1,000 a monthThey don’t earn coins. See Promotions.
What a price is worth

Buyers pay 4¢ to 5¢ a coin, depending on the coin pack they bought. You keep 75% of what a coin is worth after payment fees, about 2.5¢ to 3.4¢ a coin. Where it lands depends on that month’s coin sales. See Getting paid.

PriceBuyers payYou get about
5 coins20–25¢13–17¢
10 coins40–50¢25–34¢
25 coins$1.00–1.2563–85¢
50 coins$2.00–2.50$1.26–1.71
100 coins$4.00–5.00$2.52–3.42

500 coins$20.00–25.00$12.58–17.08

Still learning what sells. Stickerbook is new, so nobody knows yet which prices people pay most often. As sales come in, Stickerbook will share what it learns so you can price with real numbers.

What works
  • A mix of free and paidA few good free stickers bring people to your page. The rest can earn.
  • Your standouts priced above your everyday onesDetailed or one-of-a-kind pieces can sit higher than quick, simple ones.
Not quite
  • Everything at the same high priceIt leaves people nothing easy to start with.
  • Changing prices all the timeEach change locks the price for 30 days, so pick one you can live with.

Getting paid

How money gets from someone collecting your sticker to your bank.

How it works
  • Every month’s coin purchases go into one poolPeople buy coins to spend on stickers, sticker sheets and backgrounds. Everything paid for coins that month goes into the pool, after platform fees (Stripe, Apple and Google).
  • The pool sets what a coin is worthThe pool is divided by the number of coins bought that month. Coins come in packs at different prices, so a coin’s value changes from month to month.
  • You keep 75%Every coin spent on your work earns you 75% of that month’s coin value. Every dollar amount in Creator Studio is already your share.
  • Each month closes on its last dayYour earnings for that month are paid on the 15th of the next month.
  • Payouts start at $25Below that, your balance carries over to the next month until it reaches $25. Nothing expires.
  • Stripe sends your payoutsSet it up in Payment Settings in Creator Studio. Stripe handles your bank and tax details, so they never touch Stickerbook.
  • Free items don’t earn coinsPromotion fees for going past 1,000 free stickers a month go on your card. They never come out of your earnings.

March: the pool
People spend on coins$1,000
After platform fees, the pool is$800
Coins bought that month20,000
So one coin is worth$800 ÷ 20,000 = 4¢

Coins people spent on your stickers500
Worth500 × 4¢ = $20
You keep 75%$15
When it gets paid
March closes on the 31st. $15 is under $25, so it carries over.
In April you earn another $12. Your balance is now $27.
April closes on the 30th. Your $27 is paid on the 15th of May.

What giving stickers away costs, and why the fee goes up as more people take them. If you’re a business or organization, this is the part to read closely. It works differently from advertising you’ve bought before.

How it works
  • Your first 1,000 free stickers each month are on StickerbookFree stickers, free backgrounds and every sticker in a free sticker sheet count toward it. Counts start over on the 1st of every month.
  • Past 1,000, there’s a small fee for each one2¢ each up to 10,000, 4¢ each up to 100,000, and 8¢ each after that. Each rate only applies to the free stickers inside its range.
  • You can’t buy reach hereNobody can pay Stickerbook to push a sticker in front of more people. Every free sticker given is someone choosing yours. The more people choose it, the more that reach is worth, so the fee goes up as it grows.
  • You only pay for stickers people takeA sticker nobody wants costs you nothing. You never pay for people who scrolled past.
  • You set the limitTo go past 1,000, add a card and set a monthly spend limit in Payment Settings ($0, or at least $10). Once you reach it, your free items can’t be collected until the 1st of the next month. Anyone who already has them keeps them.
  • Fees go on your card, never your earningsThey’re charged on the 1st of each month for the month before. Under $10, they carry over to the next month instead. If your card is declined, you’re back to the free 1,000 until it’s fixed.

The next 9,000, at 2¢$180
The next 15,000, at 4¢$600
You pay$780
The same big month with a $500 spend limit
At 10,000 given, you’re at $180. Each one after that adds 4¢.
At 18,000 given, you reach $500. Your free items can’t be collected until the 1st of the next month.
You pay $500, not $780. The 18,000 people who took your stickers keep them.
